National Account Controller – Discount (6m FTC)

Interested in being part of a unique culture and operation which would see you play an instrumental role in the UK?  We’re supporting a global FMCG company who manufacture a number of food brands that have strong heritage in various countries and are now looking to appoint a National Account Controller on an interim basis to operate across Discount Retail.

As the Discounter National Account Controller, you will report to the Sales Director for the 6 month period working as part of a wide sales team in the UK, responsible for achieving budget net sales performance and margin contributions across a range of Discount Retailers.

You will come into a high-performing team, and we’re looking for a leader that balances support and challenge bringing focus, strategy, positivity and a hands-on approach with accounts when needed.

  
Key focus for the National Account Controller:

• Tailor strategy for your Discount Retailers to either fix, maintain or grow.
• Formulate extensive account plans, responsible for P&L growth and devising, implementing and delivering on JBPs.
• Ensure strong financial control, forecasting and a tight supply chain to ensure commercial delivery.
• Lead your team of three to deliver for each Discount Retailer supporting them both strategically and commercially.
• Lead with empathy in a highly collaborative, action-orientated business.

Experience/ character traits required:

• Discount Retail customer experience in FMCG at the Controller level.
• Team leadership able to support and challenge with a high degree of empathy.
• Strong analytical skills and results focus.
• Commercially savvy, all over the detail and numbers.
• Positive, action-orientated, people person.
