So… in short, these guys are Midlands-based and looking for a Head of Sales to join them on their journey as they continue to expand. Reporting to the Commercial Director and leading a small but perfectly formed team, you will take a hands-on approach with customers across Discount and Grocery Retailers as well as supporting the team in order to deliver. You will sit alongside others in the Senior Leadership Team having a strategic impact on the direction of the business from a Brand and Private Label perspective and be fully immersed in the Supply Chain.
The product is fantastic – you’ll know exactly who they are and if you’ve not tried it.. you’ve never lived!
You’ll find the responsibilities as expected for a Head of Sales and will also include:
- Team leadership is both supportive and challenging with ambiguity acceptance as the business grows and expands adapting to customer and business needs
- Maintain the relationship with the longest-standing customer, managing expectations as the business evolves
- Detailed top and bottom line P&L management considering COGs, inflation and balancing long-term relationship development
This is an awesome role but won’t be for everyone depending on your experience as well as character. There is a change in this business and given the pace of growth, you have to lean into ambiguity and not just be comfortable in it, but thrive in it, and adapt your style dependant. We’re looking for:
- FMCG sales and private label expertise but operate like you’re dealing with a brand! (Branded experience too would be ideal, you must at least have an appreciation for the brand)
- Long-term relationship development operating with FMCG Retailers
- Balance potentially conflicting relationships using your commercial acumen to drive all parties forward
- Heaps of charisma! - You’re a people person with excellent communication skills adapting to various stakeholders
- Natural influencing ability, gravitas, growth mindset and positivity
