Working hours – full time

Location – Hybrid/Spalding centre, Lincolnshire

Freeworld Foods are recruiting for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager (Retail and Foodservice) to lead in all in all aspects of Freeworld Foods business development to existing customers and establishing new customers.

This is a great opportunity to join a soon to be BRC accredited multi £million turnover business who offers real progression opportunities for an experienced professional who is seeking further development in their career.

Reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will drive sales income and new clients for our retail and foodservice clients.

Main Duties:

Commercial & Account Management

  • Selling the whole range of products within existing customers at all levels to support their business requirements and grow turnover for the organisation.
  • Building and maintaining relationships across all departments including Buying, Supply Chain and NPD in order to meet sales targets within identified accounts.
  • Proactively identify and successful develop new customer accounts in specific markets that fit with our campaigns
  • Generate costs and quotations to support the sales process. This will include both spot enquires through the year and annualised supply tenders
  • Tracking of all customer quotations, sample and spec process through to launch.
  • Attend networking events and exhibitions as agreed to raise the profile of the organisation and feedback intelligence.
  • Record and track details of minutes of meetings with customers and follow up of actions from visits.
  • To keep the whole business up to date with offsite meetings.
  • To maintain and update the customer contact database. This will include both commercial contacts and the need to align colleagues with adding NPD, technical contacts to a filtered database.
  • Contribute to regular customer communications with news updates, product information and newsletters. This will be targeted campaigns stemming from the contact database and include both existing and potential customers.
  • Follow up on leads generated undertaking customer visits as appropriate. To maintain targets and communication activity on a central spreadsheet. This will also include a tracking document to monitor expected annual tenders, and the progress of said tenders over the Summer.

Other

  • Awareness of supply chains costs as part of the overall P&L for the larger accounts and look for efficiencies where possible
  • Regular meetings with NPD to track sample activity.
  • Help maintain the sample database which tracks all active projects. Liaise with customers to highlight parked projects where appropriate.
  • Regular meetings with our supply base including our main manufacturing sites in Spain. This will update customer activity, contract usage, status of quotations received, and updates on any forthcoming product launches/delists
  • Achieving the income targets with customers within the long-term relationship building ethos and values of the organisation.
  • Tracking via monthly communications, customers contract uptake and status. Highlight any lines that are running ahead or behind, and any resultant actions required.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business studies or a related field preferable (but not essential)
  • Sales Experience with within food industry
