£30-32,000 Basic, Bonus, Company Car + Benefits

Our client is a market leader in gravel and other landscaping products being sold into builders merchants and garden centres nationwide. We have been briefed to find high calibre Customer Service Executive/ Delivery Driver who is also capable of building and maintaining relationships with the managers of the various depots they will be visiting. A large part of the job involves engaging with customers upon arrival at the delivery destination, and building and maintaining their trust. You should be able to deliver high levels of customer service as well as just the product.

The product includes bags of sand and gravel which can be very heavy indeed and you could be delivering several tonnes of product each week, so it’s critical that you are strong and physically fit. The job involves not only making deliveries, but quite often the customers will expect you to build their display on arrival, which is itself pretty heavy work and is often in an outside yard. You will be required to undertake some outside work therefore in all weathers.

The roles involve working largely unsupervised so it’s essential you can be relied upon to manage yourself without constant supervision. That includes setting your own journey plans and deciding on your own priorities on a daily basis. 

The job also involves taking orders on site and taking advantage of the numerous opportunities to upsell and maximise product pull through / sales. It would be something of a bonus therefore if you have some previous merchandising experience and / or experience of working in a builders merchant, garden centre or retail store and that you understand the principles of how customers buy, and how to position displays for maximum advantage.

In return for your dedication and effort, our client is offering a competitive starting salary of between £30,000 & £32,000 Basic plus a Bonus & Company Car
