We are currently recruiting for a Head of Sales on behalf of our growing client, a leading catering business. This pivotal role involves leading the sales team and driving the company’s sales strategy under the direction of the Managing Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, from making effective sales calls to crafting high-quality proposals that align with the company’s professional image. The successful candidate will have a strong background in contract catering and will have the opportunity to bring new ideas and new energy to the sales team
About You
As the Head of Sales, you will:
• Bring a strong background in corporate catering to understand client needs and industry trends.
• Lead by example, making effective sales calls and ensuring your team meets their targets for generating meetings.
• Drive the team to produce a required number of proposals from meetings, utilizing pre-meeting planning for maximum success.
• Craft and oversee the development of proposals that reflect the company’s professionalism and strive to improve success rates.
• Lead marketing initiatives to enhance the company’s image with prospective clients and stay ahead of competitors.
• Maintain and update sales data records with precision, ensuring the capture of new opportunities.
• Liaise with the Operations team to align on proposals and exceed client expectations.
• Foster a collaborative team environment, involving team members as needed and identifying professional development opportunities.
• Uphold company standards, including the presentation of company assets.
Day to Day of the Role
• Oversee the sales team’s telephone activities to ensure targeted meetings are generated.
• Lead the planning and execution of meetings to produce high-quality proposals.
• Direct the proposal development process, ensuring all documents are proofread and approved by a Managing Director.
• Conduct competitor research to inform marketing and sales strategies.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and the Managing Director to ensure proposals meet company standards.
• Identify and facilitate professional development for yourself and your team.
• Maintain the company’s high standards in all aspects of the sales process.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven leadership experience in a sales environment.
• Must have experience in corporate catering.
• Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Experience in proposal writing and data management.
• Strategic thinking with a flair for innovation and professionalism.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, particularly ACT.
• Ability to work collaboratively and foster a team-oriented environment.
