Job Details

We are looking to further strengthen our Select & Save field team with the appointment of one new Business Development Manager, to manage our business in the North East of England.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Sales Director

The purpose of this role is to manage a defined region with responsibility for sales growth, debt, margin, cash profit and member satisfaction. There is a particular emphasis on sales growth.

You will be responsible for managing the current member base and delivering new business growth in your region.

You will be accountable for your members purchase budget.

Attend 4 weekly team meetings where you will be asked to present field feedback, opportunities and or concerns, your performance against targets set and to outline actions required to improve performance

Ideal Candidate

You should have retail convenience experience as well as an understanding of independent convenience store owners Proven experience in a field-based role, ideally with a Symbol Group Passionate about retail and helping independent retailers Someone who can not only work to a general daily routine, but can be adaptive to the people and situations that are presented to them You will have a solution focussed sales approach with a natural desire to problem solve and be resilient enough to have difficult conversations when things don’t go to plan Being familiar with the local area and the social and economic factors affecting it, is a must You must possess a full UK driving licence

Our Select & Save central office is in Birmingham City Centre and we have a retail customer base of over 120 members covering the breadth of England, more recently we have expanded into North and South Wales. We do not currently trade in Scotland.
