NATIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER – FOODSERVICE END USERS
Home based, flexible working
To £60k basic + bonus, £6k car allowance & benefits
THE COMPANY
Our client is a highly respected, well established, added value, premium multi-category food manufacturer with a track record of marketing and NPD investment, considerable sales growth and supporting both their local community and cherished employees.
The business is focused on the UK foodservice sector, where they successfully market a high-quality range of premium branded and bespoke food solutions that specifically meet the needs of their customers and their consumers.
Their National Accounts team is a close-knit unit, working with a special, collaborative team spirit, focused on ‘winning with their customers’ and further driving their profitable sales growth success. It’s a great place to work, with both the support and autonomy to go out and show what you can do, with a platform to further develop your career.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Foodservice Head of Sales, this new NAM appointment signals another large investment in their rapidly growing business across the foodservice channel, which has a focused, highly successful route-to-market trading strategy.
You will be able to ‘flex and shape’ this new role function although the core responsibilities will include:
Directly manage a portfolio of major high street casual dining restaurant accounts with P&L responsibility. Drive and develop core branded product listings with key procurement and development chef contacts. Develop and manage bespoke product solution development projects from concept to launch through all internal and external stakeholders. Hunt for new business development end user accounts within strategically targeted high street restaurant major accounts. Working closely with colleagues responsible for Bidfood, Brakes and regional wholesalers to ensure strong route-to-market service management of your end user customers. Key objectives are to grow branded listings, volumes and profitable sales growth, while maximising efficiencies by working as a key point of contact with the major distributor/wholesale accounts and influencing their sales teams. You will create effective business plans, develop customer-led range reviews, implement marketing activity and promotions, and negotiate pricing and terms with your customer portfolio.
ABOUT YOU
Having developed your FMCG sales career in the foodservice channel within a blue-chip or medium-sized food or drink branded business, you are currently looking for a fresh career challenge in a more flexible and dynamic environment. Your NAM experience should include managing any of the big UK-based restaurant groups, hotel chains or pub groups with food selection menus where you have sold either branded products or strategically created and managed bespoke food solutions, working cross functionally with food development and procurement key stakeholders.
Having developed your commercial experience up to NAM level in the foodservice channel you have a strong understanding of the route-to-market supply dynamics linking both the major end user and distributor supply network. You can demonstrate key commercial wins within your major account portfolio together with your business skills, knowledge and capabilities developed through either existing or by opening new business end user accounts.
Above all, you are highly personable and want to work as part of a high performing, integrated team that is making a big a difference in today’s highly competitive foodservice market.
Having considered and ticked the above boxes, please apply, together with your CV quoting ref MS/2475 and current benefits package details to mark@smithcarey.co.uk. Or give Mark Smith a call for a confidential chat about this excellent career shaping opportunity on 07747 847214.
