Our client is a leading and well-established importer of Italian fine food, with a loyal customer base of high-quality restaurants, hotels, and coffee bars. A recent expansion means the company will very shortly be in a position of extend its offering to Greek and Turkish fresh produce, and the opportunities presented are substantial, particularly so in the wholesale channel !

To this end we have been retained to identify and recruit three accomplished individuals to take on the extended product offering – one for the north, one for the Midlands and another for the south of the country.

In this role you will have little or no interaction with end-users, however you will be charged with managing some strategic independent foodservice wholesale accounts, most of which are larger independents, and many of which are members of one of the wholesale foodservice buying groups.

To be considered for this exciting position you should have sold ( any food product ) into the independent wholesale channel, and have a clear understanding of how the foodservice wholesale channel works. Exposure to either a chilled or fresh category would be a small bonus, although not in any way essential. More critical is your understanding of the foodservice wholesale channel.
