My client, a leading pet food business, are looking for someone to join their rapidly growing business in a role leading the UK market.

Client Details

A leading pet food company at a European level is seeking for its international expansion in the UK & Ireland. The Sales Manager's role will be to lead and manage sales activities in the United Kingdom and Ireland, introducing their pet food brands to the market, establishing and expanding an effective distribution network and managing key accounts.

The business have delivered excellent growth across Europe and now look to expand their offering in the UK market. With a couple of distributors already in place, this is a great role for a suitable candidate to join as employee number 1 in the UK and develop their fantastic brands. As the business grows, there will be a great opportunity to build a sales team and run the UK market as country manager / sales director.

Description

The objective is to increase the presence of their brands and sales, including the possible production of own brands or co-packing.

Sales Manager - Pet Food:

Market Development:
  • Research and analyse the pet food market in the United Kingdom and Ireland to identify business opportunities.
  • Introduce and position our brands in the local market
  • Define market entry and expansion strategies.


Sales management:
  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve established objectives.
  • Identify and secure new business and sales opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and distributors.


Distribution network:
  • Build and manage an efficient and reliable distribution network.
  • Negotiate agreements with local and national distributors.
  • Monitor the performance of the distribution network and optimise processes


Key Account Management:
  • Develop and manage relationships with key accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and account loyalty.
  • Coordinate the production of own brands and co-branding with key clients


Strategy and Reports:
  • Develop and present sales reports and market strategies to senior management
  • Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as necessary
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives.


Profile

The Successful Sales Manager - Pet Food:
  • Proven track record within the pet food sector within the UK market
  • Previous experience / network with distributors and retailers within the UK market
  • Proven track record of success in sales and market development
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and results oriented.
  • In-depth knowledge of the pet food market in the United Kingdom and Ireland
  • Project management and leadership skills
  • Energetic and proactive with a strong drive to achieve and exceed goals.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Adaptability and ability to work in a dynamic and competitive environment.
  • Happy to travel to see customers, this role will be fully remote.


Job Offer

The Successful Sales Manager - Pet Food:
  • £50,000 - £55,000 per annum base salary
