Job Details

A respected market leader within the Commercial Interiors sector, who have experienced rapid growth over the last 10 years are looking to strengthen their team with the key recruitment of an additional Specification sales manager within the Residential sector.  The company has a choice of products available through flooring contractors for projects undertaken by architects, designers and other specifiers.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Specification Manager to take on the challenge of penetrating various aspects of the Residential market through key clients and specifiers that operate within the sector.

The aim will be to gain buying agreements where appropriate and to build a project pipeline based on a variety of Residential buildings from luxury developments through to social housing.

As the fast-growing construction market evolves at pace, your role will be to keep at the forefront of the market and new projects – spotting and leveraging opportunities to grow sales with existing products and customers; and proactively creating openings to sell in products and bring new customers on board.

You’ll have all the tools to do the job: the broadest product range, great delivery support and top-class customer service. You’ll need to leverage your potential through your customer relationship building skills, tenacity and drive to build and grow the area.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop a customer list across London and the Southern England.
  • Create a specific business plan to proactively identify and target growth opportunities.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential customers at all levels of the customer hierarchy,
  • in order to provide support and develop awareness of the company’s products and services.
  • Sell and influence the sale of products and services within margin guidelines.
  • Maximise the sales of all products across different applications (by market sector) to ensure the highest margin opportunity can be achieved whilst ensuring billings targets are reached or exceeded.
  • Identify, record, monitor and convert project opportunities within the marketplace to maintain and improve market share.
  • Identify market and competitor information and feed it back to the business in order to ensure market requirements and competitor developments are incorporated into marketing and product plans.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

We’re looking for a proven Sales professional who shares our passion for the construction, fit-out and refurbishment markets. You’ll need to have the tenacity, enthusiasm and can-do attitude to take this excellent product range and build solutions, excitement and commitment in your customers.

You’ll need to be organised, structured and conscientious in how you approach your business planning, customer visits, reporting and follow-up activity.

Being out on the road means you’ll need to be self-reliant and self-motivated, but we’d like you to be a great team player too! We have a strong team ethos and encourage all colleagues to work together to provide the best experience for our customers.

In particular you’ll bring:

  • Sales professional success – in a B2B sales environment, preferably the Residential market place.
  • An impressive track record of driving sales via a consultative-selling approach.
  • Experience of working on project based work with long lead times.
  • Strong organisation skills and experience of working with CRM or similar systems.
  • A strong work ethic and a passion for exploring new opportunities to build business with your customers.
