The role:

This Operations Finance Analyst supports the Head of Operations Finance and collaborates with Budget holders to ensure the financial impacts of business decisions are understood and optimised.

Initially, the focus will be on providing financial support for the new production line, set to complete in 2025. Post-completion, the role will shift towards financial analysis and supplying management with key information for effective operation, whilst owning the financial operating model.

Additionally, the analyst will be the main finance contact for the innovation team, aiding in information provision and modelling for new product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management including detailed analysis of project expenditure regarding budget allocations and financial position vs budget.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers and other relevant stakeholders to gather project-specific insights and updates.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization within the supplier relationships, without compromising on quality or level service levels
  • Monitor vendor compliance with contractual agreements, service level agreements.
  • Maintain rolling cash flow forecast, producing weekly and monthly reports to senior management.
  • Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests to present to CFO and Chief Supply Chain Officer
  • Operating Model Analysis including developing reporting and analysis to assist with decision making on how to run the factory most effectively
  • Own the manufacturing operating model, providing scenario analysis and insight for management’s long-term plan.
  • New Product Development including working closely with cross-functional teams to gather detailed information on materials, labour, and overhead costs associated with new product development. Presenting and justifying any assumptions.
  • Analyse various cost scenarios to provide insights into the financial implications of different decisions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA part-qualified accountant
  • Experience of working in the manufacturing industry
  • Strong modelling experience and Excel/Data-analytics skills
  • Advanced Excel/systems skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Effective communicator with ability to challenge
  • Ability to present and explain financial speak to non-financial stakeholders
