Job Details
Hours: 40 hours per week with rotational shifts between 8.00am and 7.00pm Monday to Sunday.
Duties and Key Skills
• Processing all sales orders and managing all aspects through to delivery.
• Handling all customer queries and liaising with the necessary departments, including account reconciliation.
• Leasing with credit controller.
• Setting up new customer accounts.
• Obtain payment by accepting cash, checks, and credit card payments
• Daily contact with customers and the company sales force to assist with any enquiries.
• Gaining an understanding of products from wines, spirits beers, soft drinks from around the world
• Up selling when necessary
• General office admin duties
• Stock queries
• Enhances organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
• The ability to work in a fast-paced office environment as part of a rapidly growing team
• Excellent numerical and IT skills; the ability to utilise the in-house computer systems
• Flexibility to adapt well to change
• The ability to use your initiative to resolve issues
As a customer sales administrator you will be the first point of contact for our telephone and online customers, helping them to place orders, check delivery timescales and with any general questions or queries they may have. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for customer service and the confidence to work well in a team environment.

Hops & Barley is a family run business, previously operating under Beerscellars and Halls Drinks. We pride ourselves on providing a well varied drinks portfolio of beers, wines and spirits from around the world, including internationally known brands and independent breweries and distilleries.
With depots in Liverpool (serving Merseyside & West Lancs), Holywell (serving Wales) and Crewe (serving Cheshire & Manchester), we work 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, and even offer a same day delivery service. We offer a personal service, striving to help our customers as much as we possibly can. Whether it’s help setting up a new bar or training staff, there’s so much we have to offer! Our dedicated Sales Reps and Telesales Team can provide you with information on the latest products and help you decide which products to stock, you need not worry about anything!
Hops & Barley is the new name for a company with a long history in the wholesale drinks business. Founded in 1989 by John Ravenscroft in Liverpool as Beerscellars UK, the business continues to be run by the Ravenscroft family, with all members having an active role, along with long serving members of staff at all depots.
The company is a key partner with all of the major drinks brands, as well as many niche producers both local and from around the world. Originally simply a beer wholesaler, Hops and Barley now stock a growing list of 4000+ products, priding ourselves on the range we offer, and if Hops & Barley don’t have it…we do our best to get it!
