Job Details

The role sits within the Commercial team, developing and managing relationships with a portfolio of Retail accounts within chilled FMCG. The categories include a range of fresh fruit/vegetable, with the focus for the role being to develop, enhance and promote the brand and products within the marketplace using strong commercial acumen.

Client Details

Our client is a leading fruit/veg producer and importer who are in a huge growth phase having been around for >50 years, with a >£150m turnover. They are committed to delivering quality products and exceptional customer service. The company's headquarters is based within West London.

The role is fully office-based, in West London.

Wokrking hours are 08:00 - 17:00 / 08:30 - 17:30pm

PLUS an addition 0.5 day every 3 weeks, to support at HQ / supply/demand of Fresh Produce orders/management of administrative tasks in line with supply and demand


The successful Account Manager (Foodservice) will:
  • Manage and grow existing Foodservice accounts including independents.
  • Identify a customer's daily, weekly, and seasonal requirements for each commodity, value negotiation to develop a sustainable long-term account plan.
  • Day to day Buyer contact for delivering sales, developing strong relationships, as well as good networking skills across the account and industry.
  • Track delivery against budgeted sales and margin targets
  • Identify, examine and investigate new business opportunities by reviewinng market trends and analysis using consumer insights data.
  • Full P&L responsibility against service level targets.
  • Proactively contribute to the successful development of the department strategy and wider business.
  • Requirement to work 1/2 day weekend cover (0.5 days - Saturday / Sunday (can be home working, post-probation - due to supply/demand and fast-paced nature of the role) 1 in every 3 weeks.


A successful Account Manager (Foodservice) should have:
  • A solid understanding of the retail industry, particularly the grocery/retail sector.
  • Able to work 0.5 days every 3 weeks on a rota basis (flexibility where required) - can work from home after probation.
  • Have a flexible, resilient and self-motivated style
  • Be a great presenter and forward-thinking planner!
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities.
  • The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
