About the role’s day to day: 

  • Be a key team member that grows and nurtures one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s go-to brands that New Zealanders love and trust – Pams.
  • Strategically managing a portfolio of own brand products through their lifecycle within the Foodstuffs business. 
  • Using our customer driven insights, trends and other available tools in your decision making and development – such as dunnhumby, Nielsen and other insight tools.
  • Developing and proposing own brand specific category strategies that meet the core own brand promises and regional category requirements and strategies.
  • Engaging with regional category management and other key stakeholders across the Foodstuffs businesses to get support for category strategies.
  • Convene and manage project teams to deliver category action plans. Taking an agile approach to project management and delivery of outcomes.
  • Develop and pursue a deep understanding of assigned categories at a market, product, and supplier level. Be proactive and skilled in understanding the levers that can be applied to achieve own brand objectives in a category, including but not limited to value engineering, expanded supply base and volume related benefits.

 Some helpful experience to have:  

  • Our ideal Foodie is someone with 3 years or more of FMCG product or category management experience, and a good balance of commercial acumen and passion for great product.
  • Relevant New Zealand and/or International FMCG retail or Food industry experience will be highly regarded. 
  • You’ll have fabulous communication skills, confidence delving deep into the numbers, and an understanding of how a cooperative retail model works.
