BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE – FMCG COMPANY
Field based:  Scotland
Attractive salary, plus bonus, car & benefits

The Company

Our client is a highly successful division of a major FMCG company operating across a number of diverse categories. The company has a significant presence in the grocery, household and healthcare categories with market leading brands. Still proudly privately owned and entrepreneurial, our client remains committed to strengthening its presence in the FMCG sector.

They are now seeking a Business Development Executive to join their sales team. The Scottish job role is field-based but candidates should ideally live within a reasonable commute distance to Glasgow or Edinburgh, or be prepared to relocate to this area. You must also possess a valid UK driving licence.

The Role

The BDE role will have direct responsibility for developing the drinks brands that the company represents in a broad mix of accounts, across both the convenience and cash & carry sectors.

Your key responsibility will be to drive listings, distribution and sales across the product range through the activation of brand visibility and brand support initiatives at the point of purchase. The role will provide plenty of variety and challenge in terms of both customer and product responsibility.

About You

We are looking for graduate calibre individuals with a minimum of c.12 months’ previous field sales experience, gained ideally in the drinks sector, working across the convenience / wholesale / foodservice environment. Alternatively, you may be a recent graduate with some relevant sales or marketing work experience gained from an internship or work placement period.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility that will test your influencing skills from day one. To be successful you will need to display a confident, articulate and persuasive personality, combined with passion and a drive for success.

If you think you’ve got what it takes and are ultimately keen to develop a career with a leading FMCG company, please apply here or email your CV to Maria Murphy at mariam@smithcarey.co.uk, quoting reference number MM/2398.

Closing Date for applications: 30th December 2023
