Job Details

A leader in their industry, our client has excellent market presence and reputation for supplying both independent and key retail and online channel customers, with a fantastic and large portfolio of gift products. 

The role: 

As Account Manager for the North and Scotland, this role will take responsibility for a well-maintained sales region comprising of both independent and key retail customers ranging from garden centres, high street and discount retailers. Delivering annual sales of £2m, this is an important and valuable territory for our client. 

Managing a portfolio of existing accounts, you will also actively seek and develop new customer relationships, negotiating terms of agreements and closing sales. Responsible for creating and implementing business plans for assigned accounts, you will deliver against sales and margin budgets, reviewing on a regular basis.

The person: 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A successful track record of sales delivery, ideally in the retail or garden centre sector with specific experience of working in the gift, greetings, seasonal, festive, homewares or similar product categories.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • The ability to negotiate at all levels.
  • A target driven attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • The ability to travel across a large territory, with overnight stays as required.

Whilst this region includes Scotland, the ideal candidate will live in the North of England but be able to travel to and stay overnight in Scotland, as required.
