As the Category Development Manager, you will spot new trends and work with the commercial colleagues to maximise growth opportunities.



It's a compelling time to join this business in the role of Category Development Manager. As a business their heartland has been branded food products into our supermarket aisles, however the growth opportunity in out of home channels is now huge. The role will work as an integral member of the sales team to recognise opportunities for growth and bring the full Sales, NPD, and Marketing teams together.



Data is important but for this role in the out of home channel you will visit exhibitions, build strong culinary relationships, and have your finger on the pulse of trends and what is coming next.



You will execute the full category plan including innovation around packaging, product positioning, promotions, and price. Also creating a ready to sell plan in conjunction with NPD. Alongside Category and Innovation you will use insights and data to identify trends and category news that will support the wider commercial strategy.



To be successful in as the Category Development Manager, you will
  • Be experienced in category management or innovation management
  • Currently work in an FMCG, food, or drink sector
  • Have knowledge of food solutions with foodservice or out of home channels
  • Have experience of using third party data
  • Have an entrepreneurial attitude with a strong communication style, this will be invaluable
  • Be adaptable, ambitious, comfortable working at pace, and have a team approach to success
