Key Account Manager - Food Wholesale Sector - Permanent - Field based (flexible location in the UK with national remit)

An exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager (Associate Manager, Sales) within the food wholesale sector to join our UK Sales team with a national remit.

Job Responsibilities, Objectives & Key Result Areas:

Deliver year on year growth in the assigned territory in line with budgeted expectations

Develop, manage, and coordinate all allocated distributor accounts

To achieve an in-depth knowledge and understanding of relative distributors and their respective market sectors

To administer all company management report requests and any additional information.

To always present a positive and professional image.

Build and maintain effective relationships and communications with all SC Johnson Professional departments, thus ensuring all available information is fully understood and effectively communicated to customers.

To attend Exhibitions and Trade shows as requested.

Achieve distribution objectives for core and new products in line with agreed targets, build, implement & monitor the Joint Business Plans for assigned areas

Develop, present, sell and implement category/brand sales plans, deals, and promotions to meet corporate sales, distribution, and merchandising objectives.

Analyse marketplace and customer trends and take appropriate actions to address potential problems and/or exploit new business opportunities.

Establish strong working customer management skills, developing excellent customer relationships with key contacts in customers (i.e., Buying, Marketing, Logistics and Merchandising etc.)

Work closely with the Brand Teams and Category Teams to ensure a good understanding of the Accounts, Category, the Consumer, the Shopper, and the Market dynamics.

 

Nature of job requires staying away from home and national unrestricted travel.

 

Previous experience / knowledge:

Essential

  • Key Account Management experience directly managing Cash & Carry, Food Wholesale customers with proven record of success
  • Strategic Account Planning with C&C, Food Wholesale customers to establish the goal of financial growth - evidence based.
  • Working in a matrix management organisation - Gaining commitment from key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service, exceeding customer expectations and SLA goals are met - evidence based
  • Proven track record in account management
  • Involvement in contract negotiations
  • Solid understanding of sales budgets and profit margins
  • Awareness and understanding of sales waterfall (Gross - Net - Delivered profit), tactics to influence and ability to deliver
  • Working relationships with associations linked to the Sector

  • Business qualification NVQ and above
  • Sales negotiator training
  • Joint Business Planning creation and execution experience
