Job Description:

  • Cavendish Maine are excited to be partnering with DK Tools in their search for an Area Sales Manager.
  • For this field based role you will ensure growth in sales of existing and new accounts within the territory working with independent retailers, merchants etc.
  • This is managing the North of England and Scotland though due to the account base would suit someone in the North of England along the M62 Corridor

Duties:

  • Develop and operate your business plan for key accounts using Insight’s data and CRM information. Focus to be given to managing the business with the Key clients.
  • Agenda and plan for all meetings to be produced to provide purpose and focus.
  • Complete all CRM reporting on time and accurately.
  • Also, to complete any other information as requested. This includes all meetings and phone calls and the syncing of emails to the CRM.
  • To collaborate with internal account management to ensure there is a plan for non key accounts.
  • To monitor client’s business with regards to products purchased and repeated.
  • Analysis from insights. To ensure we don’t lose lines and if we did, we know why. Forms part of key account meeting agenda.
  • Achievement of agreed targets financial and non-financial.
  • Take account applications from whatever source to the closed and spent stage working with the Internal Account Manager as appropriate. Or more directly in the case of key accounts.
  • Resolve customer issues using the customer service team and Internal Account Managers as appropriate.
  • Also, be involved directly in communication to achieve a good outcome for the client as appropriate.
  • Monitor competition by gathering and feeding back current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; networking with peers internally and externally.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

  • For this Area Sales Manager role, you will ideally come from a sales background in the DIY sector or similar and be a keen and confident seller.
  • You will be self motivated and be able to manage your own diary and be comfortable presenting to customers.
  • Experience selling into the DIY, merchant or garden customer base would be highly beneficial.

Salary/Benefits Information:

  • The salary package for the role is up £35,000 with excellent earning opportunities through commission and bonus OTE £11,000
  • Car or car allowance + benefits
