Fentimans is one of the UK’s largest and most instantly recognisable family owned soft-drinks businesses. The brand has a rich history, starting in 1905 when Thomas Fentiman acquired the recipe for botanically brewed ginger beer after striking a deal with a fellow tradesman. Back then the product was stored in stone jars and delivered door-to-door by Thomas himself using a horse and cart for transport! Things have evolved a lot since then, but Fearless, Thomas’ faithful family dog still proudly guards every bottle to this day!

With over 100 years of experience in botanically brewing beverages the brand is known for its superior quality, craftsmanship, and unsurpassed flavours! The business has grown significantly since its inception and has ambitions to further this success, ensuring its unique range of Soft Drinks, Mixers and Tonics are available to consumers across the country.

 

The Role

As National Account Manager (GAIN) – Out of Home you will play a vital role in developing the Out of Home strategy alongside your Channel Controller. You will be a fearless new business hunter, driven to ensure that Fentimans is available in the UK’s most recognisable On-Trade and Out of Home venues. You will be an inspirational leader, instilling this mindset into a team of 3 – 4 talented Key Account Managers based around the country.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting your Channel Controller in shaping the future of the Out of Home channel
  • Leading the GAIN new business delivery agenda as part of the 3 year Out of Home strategy
  • Clearly understanding and taking ownership of engagement with ‘Most Wanted’ GAIN accounts – targeting a specific list of non-trading customers across On-Trade, Travel, Leisure, and Workplace
  • Inspiring a team of 3 – 4 direct reports to successfully deliver annual sales targets ensuring close communication, training, coaching, and embedding a winning mindset for winning new business
  • Commercial forecasting for all potential GAIN customers, managing revenue and investment levels in line with company frameworks
  • Developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships with key Route to Market personnel
  • Attending tradeshows and events when necessary
  • Adopting a category led approach to sales, understanding the overall soft-drinks category and competitor set to improve customer proposals
  • Working closely with the On-Trade marketing team to propose and implement plans and activity for potential new custom

 

 

The Candidate

The perfect candidate will have a track record of successful new business delivery within the National On-Trade and Out-of-Home channels. You will have a strong understanding of the UK drinks industry and be a tenacious hunter with a strong team ethos!
