Who are you?

We are looking for people with leadership experiences. This could be via graduate experience in an FMCG business or other work environments. You could have also demonstrated leadership through volunteering, charity work, team sports or coaching. You are hungry to learn, ambitious, collaborative, love a challenge and thrive in a team environment. If you have front line customer management experience this is great. Experience of successfully forging and maintaining relationships is essential as well as a proven track record of interpreting data to form insights and delivering business results. This is a role where you will be challenged to deliver results and supported to achieve them.

 

How will you learn?

From day 1 you will be in role, learning the ropes and taking ownership of your customer relationships. You will be given a lot of responsibility and you’ll learn through some challenging projects and day to day aspects of the role.

 

You’ll also be attending our externally run accredited ‘Aspiring Leaders Programme’ which, over the course of 12 months will teach you about yourself, what motivates you to your perceived strengths and weaknesses right through to analysing management techniques, problem solving and more.  We build the skills, knowledge and professional behaviours that will support you in your day-to-day role, including commercial acumen, building relationships, decision making, communication and delivering results.

 

We’ll set you up with a senior mentor through our Mentorship Programme who will work with you as you transition into the business and support you throughout your period of adjustment and beyond.

Category Development Executive

You will have full accountability for providing category leadership to deliver mutual growth for Kimberly Clark and the categories we operate in within your designated retailers.

You will create compelling, shopper led strategies and sell-in stories to excite and engage your retailers, in line with category objectives. You will provide ongoing leadership through tracking and evaluating performance versus key metrics, identifying opportunities to drive further growth.

With support and guidance from your line manager and a functional coach you will receive full training in category management and the core behaviours to develop you into a future leader.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Create and develop strong network within your retailer base

  • Tailor category strategies for your accounts and agree joint growth plans with key customers, influence retailers to implement recommendations tailored to their needs

  • Utilise exist insights and identify new insights to influence instore execution including product distribution, promotions, shelf space and merchandising plans.

  • Fully lead range reviews within your customers, ensuring that the category and Kimberly Clark are in the best position to perform ahead of the market

  • Optimise use of multiple data sources to analyse market performance and key initiatives, continually seeking opportunities for further growth

  • Partner with sales and marketing to deliver key initiatives within your retailers

  • Lead development of best practice reporting to the Kimberly Clark business across key indicators

 

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven track record of interpreting data and delivering results in a business or other environment

  • Experience of successfully forging and maintaining business relationships essential

  • Experience working within UK FMCG market would also be an advantage

  • Experience in a commercial role or closely related field is preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.

  • Degree-level educated or equivalent preferred, but not essential

 

SKILLS

  • Ambitious, driven and passionate individual

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders

  • Highly analytical, you can manipulate data and have a curious mindset; you strive to know why

  • Exceptional time management skills, you can prioritize tasks effectively

  • Understanding of EPOS or shopper data is an advantage
