About the Company:-
We have the pleasure of working exclusively with W Atlee Burpee, helping them to secure their next Sales and Marketing Director. The company have been established for nearly 150 years, growing to the position of the number 1 seed supplier in the US direct to consumer and retail markets. They have been established in the UK for a ten years and have had to navigate a number of challenges during this time (Brexit and Covid to name but 2!) Having successfully navigated these challenges, they are now in a position to forge on once again.

About the Role:-
This is a brilliant opportunity to grow a company from a humble beginning, with the backing and support of larger parent company. You will be heading up the UK division and ensuring it continues its development in the market. Working closely with the US, you will be responsible for the customer relationships, setting the growth strategy for the business and managing the team as needed (currently only 1 additional member). You will be exploring a number of options for expanding the Burpee brand in the UK, in order for it to become synonymous with home gardening.

The Ideal Candidate:-
Good experience in Horticulture is crucial. You will need to be passionate about the industry and looking to disrupt and challenge the current status quo. Experience within a smaller business would be useful, but with the knowledge of putting structures in place to allow for sustainable growth. Whilst you will have a lot of autonomy to achieve these goals, given the geographical challenges of working with a parent business in the US, you will need to ensure strong links are maintained.
