The Company

One of the UK’s largest independent coffee roasters – established over 70 years ago and offering the widest range of commercial coffee machines to market.  These include; Traditional, Bean to Cup, Filter, Nitro and Vending.

They roast, grind and cup their own coffee and are able to offer customers a first – class maintenance and barista training service.

About the Role:

A rare opportunity to manage, develop and maintain a large key national supermarket chain account (in – house Cafes), whilst actively looking at new business acquisitions.  You will formulate joint business plans with customers based on strategically growing and maximising the account’s potential. 

You will build personal relationships (mainly at Head Office level) through customers and prospect networks as well as:

  • General account development – developing, constructing and gaining agreement for annual business plans including; volume, revenue, promotions, pricing, service and account contact objectives
  • Regular account reviews (planning & objective setting), delivering category growth initiatives
  • Negotiating trading terms and pricing within the company agreed timeline with support from the Business Unit Director, protecting account profitability and increasing margins where possible
  • Internal reporting and communications
  • Profiling, networking & training
  • Securing new business within the national account
  • Rolling out of active sector – relevant marketing campaigns
  • Maximising sales of all product groups via organic range extension
  • Working with internal teams to identify any gaps
  • Project management from NPD to operational delivery
  • Monitoring and evaluating sales data and commercial reports to identify any problems or opportunities

Key Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required:

In order to be considered for the role of Senior National Account Manager, you must possess the following;

  • Extensive experience of managing large national accounts at a senior level
  • Strong coffee knowledge and experience or possibly a similar foodservice product
  • Exposure to and knowledge of working with supermarket Cafes or Café chains
  • The ability to work at Head Office level
  • A strong, proven  track record of achieving high levels of new business results
  • A confident approach to presenting and negotiating
  • A full market awareness of trends and activities within the sector
  • Effective management skills with the desire to motivate, focus and interact
  • A positive and professional attitude
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & Outlook
  • A full UK driving license

Salary/Benefits Information:
