FOOD HOUSEHOLD BRAND LEADER — NATIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER
MAJOR RETAIL & WHOLESALE ACCOUNTS with P&L responsibility
Flexible location — Midlands based
Attractive basic, bonus and car or car allowance

THE JOB

Full P&L control of a £14m account portfolio, including each account’s business development strategy, terms negotiations, NPD selling and effective promotional planning and execution.

Reporting to the Commercial Director this is a team-playing role, working cross-functionally with Marketing, Category, Finance and Supply Chain colleagues, while you take the lead in orchestrating customer-led strategies and trading proposals.

Your core Objectives will be:

  • To effectively manage P&L performance in line with budget
  • Develop deep and trusted customer relationships
  • Drive new branded product listings and store distribution, in line with core range objectives
  • Build category insight-led trading strategies

You will be given full support and coaching in this role, focused on achieving both your business and further career development goals up into a more senior top 4 GRM position… Plus of course, greater financial rewards!

ABOUT YOU

You’re looking for a fresh NAM challenge where you will take a leading role with your customers, whilst working in a ‘team-focused’ culture with a highly supportive management style, and where your achievements will be both visible and fully recognised. An environment where you will have the freedom to express your thoughts and ideas and know that you can make a difference both internally and externally with your customers.

Currently working in a branded food or drink business, you have recently progressed your career up to NAM level, managing any of the first or second-level grocery retail multiples, and are now looking to progress into managing grocery retail multiple accounts.

Comfortable working with category teams and building and influencing targeted, insight-led, fact-based trading proposals, you are also an experienced terms negotiator and understand the broad dynamics in managing your customers’ P&L dynamics.

Above all, you are a team player with an open and friendly personality, together with the drive, ambition and passion for both ’what’ and ‘how’ you make things happen in the everyday challenges of modern FMCG major customer account management.
