To build a trusted category partnership with Convenience & Impulse retailers and Out of Home suppliers in the Channel through developing and delivering inspiring category solutions & recommendations that generate category growth and increase market share.

Client Details

An FMCG iconic brand leader within snacking and a staple no. 1 category supplier to the UK retailers.

  • Ownership: category processes including internal and external Period Reporting and providing ad hoc analysis to support our sales team to deliver its objectives both internal and external
  • Retailer Management: direct ownership of Impulse and OOH customers, ensuring customer trends and opportunities are being shared and shaping business opportunities; Spar, Todays and OOH (Bidfood & Brakes)
  • Keep the customer at the heart of the business through influencing a best-in-class in category insights
  • Lead the Commercial Agenda: Supporting the delivery of the perfect store targets. Support the marketing & sales teams through reporting in line with requirements.
  • Insight, Planning and Category Vision: tailor the Category Vision to the relevant Strategic Customer strategy to set the direction for the year and areas of focus for engagement. Work as part of the team to update and evolve the business tools (Nielsen, IRI, Kantar) delivering key insights to drive category & brand presence
  • Develop Category Capability across Commercial teams: Support sales team trade engagement on category vision through Sea Level Training as well as bespoke Trade engagement sessions.

  • Experienced Senior Category Executive looking for a move into full Category Management
  • Foundations within FMCG category / sales / data insights or within a data agency
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and good understanding of Customer Management Process
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of complex information, interpret & construct straightforward plans to derive actionable insights
  • Excellent understanding and workings of data management and analysis across platforms such as IRI, Kantar and IDG
  • Advanced usage of Excel, PowerPoint, Nitro (or equivalent; and basic Spaceman (or equivalent)
  • Strong influencing / negotiation expertise
