The Company

 

  • One of the UK’s largest independent coffee roasters – established over 70 years ago and offering the widest range of commercial coffee machines to market.  These include; Traditional, Bean to Cup, Filter, Nitro and Vending.
  • They roast, grind and cup their own coffee and are able to offer customers a first – class maintenance and barista training service.

 

 

About the Role:

 

  • As Sales Manager for the successful Independent Cafes division, you will have total managerial responsibility for a team of Coffee Sales Managers whilst leading consistent sales growth and margin enhancement in line with budget expectations.
  • You will recruit, manage and mobilise your team by setting targets for sales, profit and business goals in line with the company objectives and strategy.
  • You will be seen by both external and internal customers as the focal point of all field sales management responsibility within your designated specialist division and will be totally responsible for all Coffee Sales Managers actions.
  • You will play an active role as a member of the Sales & Marketing Senior Management team, and the wider Leadership Team to ensure that the company strategies are implemented and short, medium and long-term objectives are achieved.
  • You will be responsible for delivering the Sales Division’s annual budgeted turnover objectives as agreed by the board.  You will also be responsible for ensuring all cost control and management of expenses for your team including; parking, fuel, travel, accommodation and entertainment etc.
  • In addition to leading, managing and motivating your team, you will be regarded as a senior field sales contact by key customers and exert influence at all levels in order to maintain and develop business and drive year on year sales growth and budget achievement.
  • Whilst this role is home based, you will be required to travel frequently to support your Coffee Sales Managers with field-based customer meetings where necessary as well as internal meetings. Travel to Glasgow Head Office is also necessary as events and meetings dictate.

 

 

Key Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required:

 

In order to be considered for the role of Divisional Sales Manager, you must possess the following;

 

 

 

  • A wealth of successful Sales Team management experience, ideally gained from within the coffee or similar FMCG industry A strong understanding of the HoReCa market – especially Independent Cafes would be advantageous
  • Able to demonstrate you can work effectively and efficiently, can deal with pressure and be able to multi-task in order to achieve results to the required standards
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a multi-site, field-based team to deliver on sales and growth targets
  • An operational understanding of how the Food Service sector operates would be a distinct advantage, along with experience of working within the coffee industry
  • A full UK driving license
