My client, a market leading babycare manufacturer, are looking to add a National Account Manager - Top 4 Grocery to their market leading business.

Client Details

My client are a market leading manufacturer of own label babycare products. Having established themselves as a market leader, they provide top quality products to most of the UK grocery, discount and convenience retailers.

The focus of the business is to manufacture and build retail brands for their customers, offering high quality products at competitive prices. They manufacture globally with 9 state of the art factories, a dedicated R&D team and a simple business structure that allows them to operate efficiently to help accommodate the nature of FMCG.

My client produce some of the highest quality products on the market across Babycare and strive for innovation and differentiation and look to lead the way on sustainability.

Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a National Account Manager to manage one of the top 4 grocer accounts across my client's portfolio of market leading own label babycare products. Managing a significant P&L, circa £50 million, this is an extremely important and significant role within the business.

National Account Manager - Top 4 Grocery:
  • Responsible for building and executing the business objectives both internally and externally for the top 4 grocery account you will manage
  • Full P&L responsibility, buying interaction and drive of growth with this account
  • Delivering against external JBPs set with customer
  • Monitoring actual sales vs budget in volume/value and margin
  • Working directly with the teams at the customer and in particular building a close relationship with the internal product management team to ensure effective delivery of all new projects/new listings/marketing activities
  • Own the customer trading relationship and execute deep contact strategies to integrate as a key strategic partner
  • Manage the account internal and external data and systems e.g. forecasting and loading, promotional planning, tracking, and reporting, promotional submissions, EPOS tracking, New Line Forms etc
  • Own and lead a best in class cross functional team across category, finance, shopper marketing, merchandising & supply chain to maximise performance
  • Execution of any marketing programmes and managing A+P budgets
  • Manage the internal forecasting process and work closely with the commercial assistant and customer services team to ensure effective stock management
  • Understand the importance/closely work with the product/marketing teams to ensure as the account manager there is a high level of understanding of the account.


Profile

The Successful National Account Manager - Top 4 Grocery:
  • Proven experience and success working as a National Account Manager, ideally in FMCG or Consumer Sales background and used to working with the major multiples
  • Experience managing some of the top 4 grocery accounts, ideally with experience managing either Asda or Tesco
  • Experience working with own label products
  • Experience working with / interest in the baby food / babycare categories is desired but not essential
  • Well-developed analytical skills, combined with strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build strong working relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently but also work well within of a relatively small UK team
  • Full driving license
  • Be based around 1 - 1.5 hours from my client's office in St. Albans or live within / close to Yorkshire.


Job Offer

The Successful National Account Manager - Top 4 Grocery:
  • £50,000 - £60,000 per annum basic salary
  • Company car (option of electric / hybrid) or £6k car allowance
  • 10% bonus
