The Sales Director role:

We are looking for an experienced Sales Director to lead the UK & Ireland sales strategy for a leading European consumer goods company. Sitting on the UK subsidiary’s operating Board, the job holder will be responsible for the commercial direction of the UK business and achieving an ambitious growth plan across multiple brands and channels.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of the growth plan in target markets across retail, wholesale and ecommerce channels
  • Line management of a team of Key Account Managers and Area Sales Managers.
  • Range development, account business plans, sales budgets, forecasting, margin mix and GP.
  • Contribute to the marketing strategy by brand, product and channel
  • Proactive development of customer relationships in strategically important accounts.
  • Create and maintain market leading positions in all categories.
  • Review market trends and competitor activity to ensure the business strategy remains current.
  • Coordinate training and visual merchandising support for key partners

 

The Sales Director candidate:

Home based, you will be able to travel throughout the UK to head office or customers’ premises as required. We are looking for an experienced Sales Director who can excel in this high-profile role. Suitable candidates will have:

  • Proven success as a senior sales leader in a non-food consumer goods business.
  • An energetic, charismatic and entrepreneurial individual who thrives in a fast paced environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience of key/national account sales with proven negotiation skills.
  • Experience of developing a sales strategy for B2B and D2C.
  • Able to influence and manage direct and indirect stakeholders through effective relationship building.
  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of P&L structures
