The Advocate Group is working in partnership with Laurent-Perrier UK, one of the UK’s largest champagne houses and a globally recognised luxury brand.

Founded over 200 years ago in 1812, Laurent-Perrier is one of the most distinguished, family-owned Champagne Houses. Based in the heart of the Champagne region in Tours-sur-Marne, Laurent-Perrier has a pedigree for innovation, handcrafting elegant champagnes using traditional, time-honoured methods.

We are leading the search for a key appointment that will support the further growth of Laurent-Perrier’s customer portfolio. This role as Key Account Manager will oversee the management and development of the current account portfolio, whilst driving new customer acquisition across the territory.

The role:

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the Territory and develop new business leads provided by RTM
  • Develop and implement jointly agreed customer and consumer-focussed business plans with Designated Accounts and new on-trade customers
  • Act as an Ambassador for Laurent-Perrier externally in all business dealings and communication with customers and suppliers
  • Identify, recommend and implement improvement plans for the development of the UK business
  • Develop specific category leadership initiatives with major customers tailored to identify consumer needs that achieve customer strategy
  • Regularly attend business trips to the Laurent-Perrier cellars in France with customers
  • Negotiate, manage and evaluate annual Joint Business Plans/Key Account Plans with Designated Accounts to achieve agreed budgets, forecasts and targets
  • Manage and control all expenses contributing to customer margin and personal controllable costs and discretionary budget to optimum effect within agreed guidelines to achieve margin plan
  • Evaluate, implement and manage all customer business proposals and investment, clearly articulating the internal and external financial benefits to margin level

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of on-trade drinks industry sales experience
  • First-hand knowledge of and resides within the M4 corridor territory  
  • Current network of trade contacts (RTM account managers and key decision makers)
  • Strong customer agility
  • Experience in account management and planning
  • Understanding of the principles of selling and delivering compelling sales structures
  • First-hand experience of face-to-face negotiation with customers
  • Financial and pricing agility
  • Confident communicator and presenter
  • Strong business acumen and commercial mindset
