Senior Business Development Manager - Consumer Electronics

Job Description

The Senior Business Development Manager - Consumer Electronics will be responsible for the identification, evaluation, and execution of new business sales opportunities within the UK retail market both online and offline to drive the growth of their Personal Transports and Wearables products.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Target and building relationships with UK retailers. Identifying and networking with the right retail partners - for example, Argos, Halfords but not limited to.
  • Building longer term partnerships with retailers to maximise sales through selling the right solutions and partnering on joint business plans and strategy
  • Collaborate with the Product team in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the region.
  • Identify objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and margins
  • Follow-up of the sales pipeline daily and make sure all activities (call/mail/f2f) are tracked accordingly.
  • Report back to and collaborate with the Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer on sales and marketing initiatives
  • Monitor and analyse the UK retail market developments, through sourcing data, researching the market and being across all potential opportunities for growth and distribution
  • Work with the wider commercial team to leverage existing buyer and external relationships to maximise the opportunity for growth

The Successful Applicant

The Senior Business Development Manager - Consumer Electronics will need to demonstrate the following:-

  • A proven track record in new business, direct sales and over performance in sales
  • Strong commercial, networking, and negotiation skills
  • Relevant and successful experience within the sales and UK retail market in the consumer electronics, technology, wearables, e-bikes / scooter, and other relevant sectors
  • A self-starter, driven, ambitious individual with a strong desire to make a difference.
  • Experience with Gap analysis and category management skills
  • Will be analytical in their approach and be able to work with multiple stakeholders at various levels.
  • Consistent track record working in a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • A very proactive and entrepreneurial candidate, coming with a challenger brand mentality - if someone has experience of a start up or building sales from scratch that would certainly be of interest!
  • Be able travel to the head office in Staines 2 days per week however this a national role so there is flexibility as to where the candidate can be based.

Your interest in sales, consumer electronics, technology, and gadgets, as well as your entrepreneurial drive will enable you to significantly grow and scale sales for this organisation. Your understanding of the UK retailer market and specific target retailers combined with your commercial know-how, shape how new and existing businesses grow.

Use of your effective communication skills will be of great importance as you will be the 'face' of the products to a portfolio of customers whose needs you listen to and help define the strategy for how their products and services can reach UK consumers.
