Unpackaged - Project Manager - Supply Chain Reusables Project

Unpackaged is looking for an amazing Project Manager to help us run a key cross-industry project.

Unpackaged is a leading consultancy specialising in promoting reuse & refill as a solution to the single-use plastic packaging crisis. We are a highly motivated small team and have a range of partners across the grocery supply chain who we work with to drive change within the industry. This project sits at the heart of our mission.

Working with a Coalition of key UK retailers, our project is now poised to go into large scale execution. We need a proven successful project manager to join our team and help us deliver on this exciting new stage in our mission to eliminate packaging waste from supply chains and the environment.

The Role

Working with our small team, you will help us:

  • Design a detailed execution plan for our large scale trial with effective tracking including managing dependencies, critical path, risks & issues
  • Manage the programme, keeping our team and our wider stakeholders accountable and effectively communicate progress, issues and risks across a multi-party coalition
  • Be prepared to deploy yourself on site and working directly with operational staff to ensure all goes smoothly during planning and launch
  • Ensure we deliver the project on time and within budget.

Essential

  • Demonstrable project management experience at senior level, with proven successes in projects involving operational implementation, especially within the FMCG or grocery sector
  • Experience of stakeholder management
  • Knowledge and experience of different programme and project management processes, tools and methodologies, including finance
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to pre-empt and solve problems
  • Keen eye for detail
  • The confidence to know when to be encouraging, and when to crack the whip to keep the project on track!
  • Much can be done remotely from home, but a readiness to be present onsite and personally overseeing the physical activity as the project is implemented is essential (UK travel only)

Desirable

  • An understanding of, and an interest in, sustainability

Details

  • Fixed term contract
  • Full time - for the right candidate, we are flexible between 4 or 5 days per week
  • We can offer some flexibility re working hours but the successful candidate must be available on work days during UK office hours
  • Remuneration commensurate with experience

How to apply:

Please upload your CV (and include your suitability for the role in the cover note) by Midnight on Monday 31st January 2022.
