Business Unit Manager | Fresh Produce | Kent
Salary ~£60-80k DOE

About Our Client
Our client is a leading supplier of fresh produce and link growers and retailers across their global network. They have invested heavily in their facilities to offer state of the art cooling, packing and ripening facilities. They offer a mixture of fresh produce categories and services, including importing fruit and veg as well as service provision. They have been through changes to adapt to the challenges in the market and ensure that they are adding value to suppliers and customers. The team is made up of seasoned fresh produce professionals who are all passionate about what they do. They supply UK supermarkets, wholesale and foodservice sectors with quality fresh produce year-round.

About the Role
This role is all about delivering for the customers and the business. You will utilise your commercial approach and management skills to lead a team to deliver commercially sustainable business plans with UK retail customers. You will oversee procurement, supply chain and technical teams to run your own business unit. You will work closely with the managing director of the business to deliver JBP's with the retail customers. You will lead category plans and work with a variety of growers and customers.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in the fresh produce sector with a track record of delivering results with UK retailers. Ideally, you will possess Sainsbury's and M&S experience, as well as fruit category experience. You will be driven to deliver results, be able to demonstrate your ability to manage a team effectively and take control of a business unit. You will be a strong communicator and influencer of people. You will be based in Kent and be willing to travel nationally and internationally. (some flexible working available but likely in the office 3-4 days a week).

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have experience in the fresh produce sector in a commercially focused role supplying the retail sector. You will need to possess drive and dynamism to motivate and manage a team.
