The company 

This well established, newly acquired, UK-based £150m chilled food business has reshaped its future business growth strategy with multi £m capital investment which will drive both manufacturing efficiency and product innovation development. The private equity owners have appointed an industry leading CEO and Commercial Director to spearhead their drive for future profitable sales growth across a number of added-value chilled food and drink product categories, including both own label and brand.

Further investment is being made within the commercial team with the appointment of two Senior National Account Managers who will report directly to the Commercial Director.

The job opportunity

Each of these SNAM roles will take P&L account responsibility for a top 4 Grocery Retail Multiple customer with multi £m turnover across three core chilled food product categories. Working cross-functionally with colleagues across two manufacturing sites, you will lead the customer business growth agenda with an insight category-led approach to building effective trading proposals to meet the needs of your customers’, shoppers’ and consumers’ needs.

This is an environment where you will be expected to manage all ‘normal’ premiership customer-management activities and also have the ability to see the bigger commercial picture to shape and rigorously influence new trading opportunities. 

Your experience

You have successfully grown your FMCG commercial career including experience of managing any of the top 6 Grocery Retail Multiple accounts for a minimum of 2 years, which must include own label food or drink products. Most importantly, you can proudly tell your story of ‘what and how’ you have achieved profitable sales growth within you account portfolio.

You are comfortable with working cross-functionally, influencing the business agenda and fully conversant in using insight category data to build fact-based trading proposals.

Additionally, you are naturally persuasive, with a highly engaging, personable style which easily develops effective and trusted relationships, and can ‘hold the floor’ with all personalities including board members.
