A leading non food FMCG business are looking to recruit a Head of Sales to take full responsibility for their wholesale and independent channel, with a sizeable team reporting in.

Client Details

A family run business operating in the homeware sector are looking to add a Head of Sales to their team. The business have an incerdible portfolio of mid market and high end products that are sold into supermarkets, highstreet retail, wholesalers, independents and internationally.

They are know for their ability to create bepsoke products for customers and their agility has helped them grow at an impressive rate.



Description

Reporting to the Sales Director and Board, the role of Head of Sales will take overall responsibility for the UK sales effort in the wholesale/independent channel (£13m) and lead the team of reps and internal sales colleagues. You will also own responsibility for the showroom with the Showroom Manager reporting in. The role will involve the ongoing development of the existing customer base and refining the account management strategy now in place. There will also be a requirement to Champion and establish the new CE (Customer Engagement CRM Program)

New business generation and opening up new markets, are also key elements of the role and we are looking for someone who can establish a more robust pipeline of sales prospects and continue the development of this through both the in-house team and the indirect sales channels.

Profile

We are seeking a successful classically trained commercial individual who has worked in a relevant market (e.g. non food FMCG with a design based product) within a product development business and has a clear sales and business development bias. Suitable candidates should have had direct exposure and success in the following areas: key account sales and management; dealing with the independents (Bricks and mortar and internet) and managed teams be it big or small.



The other key requirements:

· Professional, hard-working and ambitious leader who is able to demonstrate a successful track record in increasing shareholder value and profits in a customer focused, demanding B2B commercial environment.

· Particular expertise in establishing strong relationships with key partners and customers.

· Hands-on and results driven: excited by the prospect of working with a knowledgeable and experienced senior management team committed to a growth strategy.

· The expertise and influencing skills to win and retain the confidence of the Board and colleagues with regard to the continued profitable growth of the company.

· A good mix of small and large company experience. The ability to provide leadership to all staff as well as to be hands on with sales and providing active sales leadership in developing new channels and closing major sales opportunities.

Job Offer

Up tp £80,000 + car and benefits.

You will need to be present in the Manchester office 2-3 days a week.
