18 month contract

The Company:

A global consumer goods company, growing rapidly, they are responsible for many well known brands and household names.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the National Account Controller, the National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for leading the company’s efforts to maintain and expand relationships with Key National Accounts. Achieving annual sales, gross margin, trade investment and other strategic targets, the NAM manages our product portfolio in order to meet or exceed account objectives whilst ensuring the customer objectives are aligned with the company.  This role has a key focus in building productive working relationships with other functions such as the Brand Marketing and Operations teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with Key National Accounts.
  • Coordinates the involvement of stakeholders across the company in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives within assigned accounts.
  • Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones to deliver the annual plan.
  • Manages ranging, pricing and promotional execution.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, whilst coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
  • Completes monthly forecasts to accurately reflect anticipated sales trends and provide a view on likely volume demand and sales delivery.

The Candidate:

  • You will currently be operating at national accounts level within non food consumer goods. Experience of managing and developing the following accounts would be highly advantageous – Sainsbury/Argos, Currys, Very and AO, as would housewares and/or home appliance experience. You will be commercially astute with experience of P&L ownership, excellent Customer Management record, strong written and communication skills, ability to engage and influence key stakeholders and be Microsoft office literate.
  • You will be ready and able to take on an 18 month contract with this market leader. A very real opportunity exists for this role to become permanent.
