Job Details

Our client has gone through a significant period of investment over recent months in preparation for an ambitious growth plan.

Already recognised as a leading supplier of choice within their respective categories, they have been preparing for their growth objectives by investing heavily in CAPEX, and strengthening the commercial team across sales, innovation, and brand marketing.

As the lead supplier of premium food ingredients within their category, the business boasts a major presence across Europe offering significant career progression opportunities for performers not only in the UK, but internationally.

One of the final areas they remain keen to strengthen is in their B-2-B sales team, where they believe growth opportunity to be one of, if not the biggest.  Already supplying to a number of other food manufacturing businesses, including several of the larger manufacturing groups, this is again an area that has been invested in to support growth opportunity.

We have been asked to go to market to identify experienced B-2-B sales professionals across the food industry interested in developing their career within a leading European giant.

Following recent annual succession planning, the business is promoting internally to a newly created role of UK Sales Director, which leaves them not only looking to identify experienced B-2-B specialists, but somebody capable of becoming no.2 to the SD and able to take on SD level responsibilities when support is needed during periods of intense workload, holidays, absence etc.

This opportunity therefore presents an ideal opportunity for experienced individuals keen to move into an environment where succession planning and people development is a core value to the business, and where a clear path to SD level will be in place.

In order to be considered for the role it is essential that applicants are able to demonstrate a successful record whilst working with recognised food manufacturing businesses. Exposure to the large manufacturing groups including 2SFG, Greencore, Samworth Bros and Bakkavor will be a distinct advantage, as will experience of supplying in to confectionary and bakery manufacturers.

Alongside a successful record, you will have a level experience that allows you to succeed in a highly autonomous role where you will have input into strategy and be given a great deal of ‘freedom’ to ‘get on with the job’.

At the same time, the business is aware that for people to succeed in this type of environment they must demonstrate real drive and ambition, along with positive personality traits typical of those in large leadership roles, and this will be key for anybody considered.

With the hugely ambitious plans they have in place, the business will be able to offer to swift progression opportunities to high achievers across their commercial function, with the likelihood they are recruiting for future leaders during the recruitment process.

So, if you are looking to make a name for yourself during what is expected to be a hugely successful phase of our client’s life cycle, please get in touch via the details provided to discuss in greater detail.

Company

For over a decade now, Food Industry Associates Ltd have proven to be a recruiter of choice for ambitious SME food and beverage manufacturers across the UK.  We don't recruit for the big corporates by choice.  Instead, we choose to work with companies with personality, entrepreneurial flare (not process), looking to disrupt the market with cutting edge innovation to provide consumers with better, healthier choices.

Are you an early stage start-up struggling to find the right solution to help you gain your fist listings in a specific customer channel before you can raise the budget to employ somebody on a permanent basis?  Maybe you know you need to source a commercial leader but aren't 100% clear in what format, or how to adequately incentivise somebody from a much larger business to join your mission?  Come speak to us.

If you're a more established business looking to bring fresh talent on board to drive ambitious sales targets, source a creative innovator to help you drive in to new extended categories, or looking to strengthen in marketing / category terms, again, come speak to us.

We've a proven record in recruiting talent for an array of businesses, helping them source commercial talent to help them achieve their goals.  From early stage sales talent through to equity-incentivised leadership roles, we've proven time and time again to find the right people for our clients at the first attempt.

How are we different to most of our competitors?  Unlike most, we don't have as diverse a portfolio of clients we work with.  However all those we do work with continuously come back to us whenever they next have another need.  In our opinion successful recruitment is achieved when two businesses truly 'partner' and collaborate together.  In our opinion the better we know you, the better we understand all the extra elements aside from simple skillset and experience to ensure the right 'fit' is identified at the first attempt.  In our opinion, this is recruitment, done properly.
