The role:

Initially covering maternity leave, but with the view to possibly becoming permanent, you will be required to manage, develop and retain existing independent accounts within the Hotel, Restaurant and Leisure sector on a national basis, whilst actively looking at new business acquisition in line with the sector and company profile.  You will also be required to manage some of the larger, high – profile hotel accounts.

The role will offer you hybrid working based both out in the field and at home as well as visiting the office as required.  This is an extremely important role within the business and will be varied day to day. 

Duties will include;

  • Building and nurturing strong business relationships both internally and externally through customer and prosect network.
  • Attending approximately 6 customer appointments per week.
  • Achieving annual new and repeat business targets.
  • Produce, maintain and distribute a live ‘prospect’ list.
  • Recommend and implement ways of developing existing business, therefore maximising sales of all product groups by range extension through promotional activity, marketing & training.
  • Negotiating with decision-makers and other influencers within existing accounts to achieve agreed targets in terms of CR, NSV & product nomination.
  • Formulating a medium & long term sales plan for the Independent Hotel base, aimed at exceeding sales & profit targets and regularly monitor progress against plan.
  • Communicate and work in conjunction with all key Department Heads as well as Internal Sales & Field Sales Teams in order to co-ordinate bespoke activity within each account as necessary for the development of your base.
  • Attend Sales Meetings to update on successes, activities, and opportunities within the sector.
  • Report on planned activity on a medium and short-term basis to the Channel Manager and o review the development of accounts against the sales plan.

The person:

In order to be considered for the role of National Account Manager, you must meet the following criteria and qualities:

  • Happy to commit to a 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
  • A wealth of success and experience working within the coffee sector.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of the HoReCa market – especially hotels (both independent and national/international chains).
  • An eagerness for the challenge to develop existing accounts as well as a strong desire to achieve new business.
  • A network of contacts within the relevant sector would be ideal.
  • A willingness to travel on a national basis.
  • A genuine and ambitious team player.
  • Confident negotiation skills and abilities - able to build sales arguments, influence decisions and close sales.
  • Highly driven and results focused.
  • The ability to motivate, focus and interact with other team players in a professional and structured manner.
  • Flexibility as far as working days and hours are concerned in order to deliver on business commitment.
  • A high level of self – discipline and motivation in home – working environment.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.

The benefits:

The job holder will enjoy a negotiable basic salary of up to £50,000 p.a plus car/car allowance and bonus package.
