About the Role
This role will lead part of the commercial fresh produce team and will report directly to the head of fresh produce. You will lead your team to offer first-class products and innovation at every day affordable prices. You will work with growers to source products directly wherever possible - whilst also working with key supplier partners and service providers. Your buying and commercial track record will ensure you have the capabilities to drive the business forward and focus on the customers and consumers needs. You will help deliver an immersive fresh market experience that goes well beyond standard retailing - this is industry-leading and cutting edge. Your remit will be to help the business transform how they source products, securing relationships with key supplier partners and affording growers the confidence to invest in their business long term.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a track record of delivering complex supplier agreements that utilise long-term relationships with fresh produce growers. You will be a critical part of transforming the fresh produce category within the business and will need to be able to influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver on this vision. You will be able to show your ability to drive sales and market share within the category. You will understand the different sourcing models and seasonality of the fresh produce sector. You will be driven, ambitious and passionate, possessing strong communication, financial and planning skills.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to have a background in the fresh food sector, ideally fresh produce. You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to negotiate and build long-term relationships. Knowledge of complex, multi-supplier negotiations and supply chains is also a must. Your people management and emotional intelligence skills will be strong too.
