About Our Client

About the Role
This role will focus on the food side of the business and will involve you in leading various packaging initiatives to drive sales and profit margins as well as market share. Building a great relationship with suppliers through effective commercial management whilst maintaining negotiating power will be key for your success. The role will allow you to improve efficiency with suppliers. You will be the go-to resource for the business on paper-based food packaging products. You will help the business deliver savings and lower costs for its customers. You will identify, sell and implement cost savings through paper-based packaging procurement.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record as a buyer with commercial activities in the food sector. Experience within or supplying a major retailer would be considered an asset. You will also need negotiation skills, and have proven yourself as a great communicator that can influence others. You will be a natural leader with the ability to motivate and work well within a team. You will have a history of strong decision making backed by results of seizing commercial opportunities through your skills as a buyer. You must have a positive attitude and outlook. You will have a wealth of knowledge on paper-based food packaging.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role you must have commercial experience as a buyer with proven results. Have a working knowledge of retail supply chains and experience negotiating the procurement of paper-based food packaging products.
