We seek an energetic Field Sales Executive to manage and develop our customers in Scotland by selling our range of leading brands of coatings and cleaners.

This role has lots of autonomy to grow the territory while working with enthusiastic colleagues.  We offer a flexible and supportive environment and the ability to work hard and reap rewards with minimal bureaucracy.  We want you to have fun and make money at Rustins!  The compensation package includes a base salary, unlimited commission and periodic bonuses based on specific objectives.  We will train you on our products and will give you close support as you learn about the products and your territory.

Reporting to the National Field Sales Manager, your key contacts will be customers, other field sales personnel, senior management at Rustins, the internal sales administration team, and the technical and marketing teams.

Rustins owns a portfolio of leading niche household care brands including Rustins, Briwax, Antiquax, Brummer, Bondaglass, Oven Mate, Lord Sheraton and Big D.  We are based in north London.  Core consumers of our products are households, DIY enthusiasts and trade professionals.  Our customers and stockists range from the major UK grocers to small independent retailers and include distributors, wholesalers, paint and builders’ merchants, and independents.  See www.rustins.ltd for more information.

The ideal candidate will have customer facing sales experience with the ambition to deliver top notch service to our existing customers and to prospect and open new accounts; the desire to improve your selling skills; the ability to work well with customers and colleagues; have a team-oriented approach; and be well organised.  We expect you to have the desire and professionalism to represent Rustins with our customers.  This is a great role for people wishing to grow their career in sales. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage existing customers in territory.
  • Open new accounts in territory.
  • Work with National Field Sales Manager to implement sales initiatives.

Preferred Skills and Experience (preferred, not mandatory!).

  • Any type of sales experience with DIY/FMCG/food/non-food products.
  • Understanding of DIY/Paint/Consumer chemicals products.
  • Using Excel.
  • Good computer skills and digitally literate.
  • Working as part of a team with mutual respect.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to do well in your career.
