Sales Development Manager role will be generic across the various specialist areas with a stronger focus on A. the implementation and development of the Sales Playbook and B. Pricing. The areas of responsibility will be adapted of the successful candidate but will be based around:

My client is an international business that has experienced huge growth over the last few years and is set to continue. They are across various sectors including technology, retail and design but within a B2B capacity. The current company Turnover is over £4 billion worldwide with PE investment in the last few years. The company operates in over 40 countries and has a number of locations in the UK.

Description

Overall purpose of the Sales Development Manager:

The core purpose of the role of Sales Development Manager, irrespective of the area of specialism is:
  • To develop and implement methodologies and best practices which maximise profitable growth
  • To support & challenge business units in developing outstanding commercially focused models and actions, including activities related to local and international Key Accounts and the end consumer
  • To drive growth (profit, share and value) in the Business Units by initiating, stimulating and challenging commercial strategies and actions.
  • Where appropriate, aim to standardise ways of working to increase consistency and overall levels of performance
  • To stimulate, inspire and facilitate 'knew thinking and new ways' of selling the value
  • To increase the knowledge and level of expertise/skills within the broader Sales communities
  • To increase overall 'Belief to Knowledge' and drive relevant market research
  • To work with all stakeholders and colleagues across the company, building partnerships so that the overall objectives of the company are met in all '4 quarters' - Customer, People, Society and Financial
  • To build strong, mutually respectful personal relationships with the country Sales departments and General Managers that enable giving valued support and appropriate levels of challenge
  • To provide support and guidance to the Business Unit executive teams across all the areas of 'sales'
  • Primary responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • A. Subject specialism: Increasing Profitable Growth, through improving all areas of Commerciality and by developing and implementing the Sales Playbook.
  • B. Sales team deliverables: activities and support as a valued member of the Sales team
  • C. Creating the right environment: modelling the right personal behaviours, innovating and sharing best practices and ultimately inspiring others

Qualifications and training

· Educated to Degree Level

· Highly numerate

· Strong written and verbal skills



· Specific negotiation training (i.e. Gap)

· Business Administration/ Consultancy

· Business to Business Marketing


Work Experience

· A highly experienced Commercial Manager/Director, Business Consultant, Senior Key Account Manager or Business to Business Marketer

· Experience in complex organisations and able to achieve goals through influencing strategies.

· Experience in presenting

· International experience



· Has worked with Insurance/Fleet/Rental Companies across European markets.

· Experience in delivering training.


Knowledge and Skills

· Strong interpersonal and partnership building skills.

· Creative and innovative thinker.
