Job Details

Our client supplies well-loved food brands familiar to us all.   Consumers are as passionate about their brands today as they were 50 years ago, and consider them trustworthy, healthy, and quality driven.

The business is widely respected amongst its peers for maintaining its core values and strong brand equity, whilst enjoying impressive growth over recent years.  Culturally the business is well known for investing in people and boasting low staff attrition levels as a result.

It is clear as the business continues to grow that plentiful career-development opportunities will be presented to those who deliver good results

Recent succession planning has leads to the business seeking a new National Account Manager to assume total responsibility for 2 of its most strategically important customer accounts – Waitrose and Aldi.

As a recognised partner of choice with a long-standing successful relationship, our client operates in true partnership with Waitrose, acting as a ‘go to’ category partner, resulting in a sizeable £multi-million, strategically important customer account.

Operating a tier system where customer accounts are categorised by strategic importance, this role will also assume responsibility for their £multi-million Aldi customer relationship.  In the same manner as Waitrose, Aldi is another customer identified as strategically influential to overall company objectives.

With both accounts pieced together, this role is one presenting the springboard many ambitious Account Manager level people seek – progression to Controller level.

With an impressive record when it comes to developing their own talent, our client certainly leads by example.  Indeed, the Controller whom this role reports into, amongst others, have each progressed internally, after performing well via this level of position.

To succeed, you will be a naturally driven and ambitious Account Manager, determined to accelerate personal development via performance.  You will thrive off fast paced environments.  Proven project management ability is important, as you will oversee multiple innovation projects, driven by strong category data, as the business seeks to continue its successful record of delivering ‘category first’ and industry leading NPD.

Experience of managing both branded and private label portfolios will aid your application.  Current / recent success whilst managing either Waitrose and/or Aldi will certainly help you stand out amongst other applicants.

Over recent years, our client has grown significantly, both here in the UK as well as internationally, via acquisition as well as organic performance.  They continue to explore similar and other growth opportunities, and their company accounts certainly reassure they are equipped with the right tools to deliver their overall strategy.

So, if you’re seeking the opportunity to join a business with strong ambitions, where new progression opportunities will continue to present to those who ‘earn them’, and you believe you are the person to seize this chance, please get in touch for a confidential chat.

Company

For over a decade now, Food Industry Associates Ltd have proven to be a recruiter of choice for ambitious SME food and beverage manufacturers across the UK.  We don't recruit for the big corporates by choice.  Instead, we choose to work with companies with personality, entrepreneurial flare (not process), looking to disrupt the market with cutting edge innovation to provide consumers with better, healthier choices.

Are you an early stage start-up struggling to find the right solution to help you gain your fist listings in a specific customer channel before you can raise the budget to employ somebody on a permanent basis?  Maybe you know you need to source a commercial leader but aren't 100% clear in what format, or how to adequately incentivise somebody from a much larger business to join your mission?  Come speak to us.

If you're a more established business looking to bring fresh talent on board to drive ambitious sales targets, source a creative innovator to help you drive in to new extended categories, or looking to strengthen in marketing / category terms, again, come speak to us.

We've a proven record in recruiting talent for an array of businesses, helping them source commercial talent to help them achieve their goals.  From early stage sales talent through to equity-incentivised leadership roles, we've proven time and time again to find the right people for our clients at the first attempt.

How are we different to most of our competitors?  Unlike most, we don't have as diverse a portfolio of clients we work with.  However all those we do work with continuously come back to us whenever they next have another need.  In our opinion successful recruitment is achieved when two businesses truly 'partner' and collaborate together.  In our opinion the better we know you, the better we understand all the extra elements aside from simple skillset and experience to ensure the right 'fit' is identified at the first attempt.  In our opinion, this is recruitment, done properly.
