The role of Business Development Executive is a key position for my client that will incorporates a cross section of independent retailers and symbol convenience accounts primarily based in Scotland with exceptions in other locations across the UK. The role will primarily support the Scotland National Account Manager with building routes to market, brand awareness and brand distribution in the retailers.

Description

The role of Business Development Executive is a key position for my client. It incorporates a cross section of independent retailers and symbol convenience accounts primarily based in Scotland with exceptions in other locations across the UK. The role will primarily support the Scotland National Account Manager with building routes to market, brand awareness and brand distribution in the retailers. There will also be exposure and support given to the Amazon National Account Manager. The individual will focus on the spirit portfolio only. Value and distribution are critical so a strong commercial acumen and tenacity to keep pushing in the face of adversity is a necessity. The candidate will have the support from all internal stakeholders to make this role their own. They must drive growth through rigour, enterprise and tenacity as well as being able to work collaboratively with other departments.

Based within their territory the candidate should cultivate and nurture relationships with their key customer counterparts. The importance of working together as a team is critical to the success. It is therefore imperative that the successful applicant works in a collaborative and inclusive manner. The ideal candidate should also have the ability to effectively communicate internally and externally and demonstrate excellent advocacy skills. They must help define and drive a shared common goal and have the ability and patience to work through internal challenges and issues.
  • Your Strategic and Financial Focus will be to drive brand awareness and distribution in symbol and independent convenience accounts. It will support volume and value sales in the Scotland Off Trade accounts as well as supporting Amazon administrative function.
  • Distribution and sales targeted with a spirit consolidated focus.
  • Competent in setting clear goals and planning sales activities whilst evaluating success at all times.
  • Helping to develop and implement the UK strategy.
  • Achieve Operational Results by executing sales processes.
  • Implementation of short, medium and long term business planning.
  • Develop and execute the set strategic plan to achieve sales targets and if necessary expand the customer base.
  • Understand category specific landscapes and trends.
  • Flawless implementation of sales strategies to enable the growth of market share.
  • Plan, organise and support sales strategies in alignment with corporate and UK objectives.


Profile

As follows:-
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of and ability to execute the Sales processes.
  • Ability to work across multiple channels and deal with different buyer types.
  • Good knowledge of spirits - added advantage of knowing the spirits portfolio.
  • Good knowledge of specialist retail and off trade sector.
  • Excellent working knowledge of distillation process.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Flexible and able to operate in a strong/competitive market.
  • Ability to develop customer relationships.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and change.
  • Flawless execution of presentations and tender proposals.
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic business partnerships.
  • Innovative and self-driven.
  • Establish strong relationships - internally and externally.
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel and Microsoft packages.
