Looking for a Category Manager to join a large SME food business in an exciting period of re branding & transformation change. This is a newly appointed commercial role, so huge scope to define & drive the top 4 partnerships, creating the category strategy through key commercial insight.

A large SME within the commodity food category in a key transformation period, looking to drive their Brand proposition further into the Top 4 through huge NPD investment & new product / category evolution.

Description


  • To work with the wider commercial team to provide insight and utilise category expertise to build on the company's brand offering and retail presence


  • Work alongside the commercial team to provide strategic commercial insight on how VeeTee can partner best with retailers resulting in brand growth in range size & features
  • Work alongside the Director of Consumer & Customer Marketing to create a category strategy
  • Lead category management reviews with customers (Top 4) / Buyers and provide expert insight to these conversations
  • Provide on-going brand & category support to the commercial team
  • Support commercial team in preparing for meetings by bringing credible category analysis & an unbiased insight
  • Joint responsibility alongside the other category manager for maintaining external agency relationships
  • Provide category & brand performance data for competitor reviews, including recommendations for actions


Profile


  • Strong category management expertise
  • The ability to manage relationships at all levels within the business and external stakeholders
  • Proven experience within a similar role in an FMCG company
  • Experience of assisting in presenting to external stakeholders / top 4 Buyers
  • Experience of influencing and negotiating with teams at all levels
  • Thrives on accountability - wants to be the driving force of non bias category management in a newly appointed role
  • Responds positively to changing business priorities and rises to the challenge
  • Applies discretion; communicates to the right people about the right things


Job Offer

£50,000 - £55,000 base salary + Bens
