The company & role

European-based, high quality beverage business with UK-based manufacturing plant, producing quality products which they market and sell c£40m into Wholesale/Foodservice and grocery retail major accounts.

The Head of Sales is looking for some interim NAM resource support to manage both a selection of Wholesale and Foodservice accounts, plus take a leading role to seek out and further drive business development initiatives. There is the possibility that the interim period could either be extended, or made permanent depending on performance as well as the expected broader company sales growth.

The candidate

Our client will expect the selected candidate to hit the ground running in this role so experience of working at NAM or BDM level (or above), managing major Wholesale or Foodservice sector accounts within a recognised drink or food company is essential. Experience of selling own-label products with a strong understanding of the NPD process would be advantageous to this appointment, although not essential.

The role offers a high degree of flexibility with just 2 days per week attendance required at their Bedfordshire-based head office. The key focus is to build customer contacts and look to sell added-value product propositions targeted at further developing profitable sales growth.
