This role will support an automotive distributor base to plan and improve their operation in order to deliver a positive profit contribution, optimise sales volumes by product category and implement this Automotive company's European strategy and Brand Experience to customers.

Client Details

A European based automotive retailer. The Company offers new and used cars, bikes, sports utility vehicles, wagons, parts, and accessories, as well as power sprayers, lawn mowers, snowthrowers, and tractors.

Description
  • Ensuring that each automotive distributor has an agreed Annual Business Plan, followed up by regular meetings and utilisation of the company's continuous improvement process to evaluate effectiveness, ensuring appropriate countermeasures are developed and implemented.
  • Full responsibility for developing sales and market strategies in a stated area or sector to achieve the agreed budgeted wholesales, shipment and profitability.
  • Agree with distributors sales and supply plans in line with the company vision in order to achieve the overall sales objectives.
  • Implement programmes in the specific countries to develop the distributor to enhance the brand and develop volumes.
  • Develop appropriate pricing/ grading strategies to support the profitability, volume and brand image in each territory.
  • Develop distributor personnel to achieve the overall sales objectives and Brand Experience brand network.
  • Monitor distributor financial status.
  • Monitor distributor forecast performance.
  • Working the distributor management team, carry out country-specific analysis in order to forecast market changes; current and new product requirements and potential volumes.
  • Search and appoint new distributor in open points or in replacement situation.
  • Seek - and apply - best practise standards to all areas of work.
  • Responsible for tracking expenditure versus budget for the cost centres within area of control.
  • Coordinate with Car and Motorcycles sales functions.




Profile
  • Experience of working in an automotive dealer/ customer facing role within a complex business environment. International sales experience an advantage.
  • Results focused - with a proven ability of achieving - or surpassing - sales and profitability targets.
  • Knowledge of the automotive retail sector an advantage.
  • An ability to lead and manage change, and to inspire others to drive towards common goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with a proven track record of effectively influencing up to, and including, Board level.
  • Should possess an inquiring mindset, seeking continuous improvement in processes and practises.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong financial awareness.
  • Expected to travel extensively in order to perform effectively in the role.
