Procurement in Ted is still in infancy, proving its value in a challenging sector, stakeholder community & a culture where creative endeavour has trumped commerciality historically.

This is an excellent Greenfield Procurement opportunity, where tactical & strategic procurement is required in equal measures, building stakeholder confidence, proving financial value, managing risk & measuring service. Excitingly the business is embarking on a 3-year supply chain and logistics transformation programme, so this is a real opportunity to join at the beginning of the journey.

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Category Manager – Supply Chain & Logistics to promote Teds business objectives and strategy and help to build a function that is credible, focussed and agile. Working with the Head of Procurement to shape the vision and strategy within Ted baker will be an exciting journey

Main responsibilities

•       Assist Ted on a Supply Chain & Logistics Transformation Programme, Developing and Implementing Category sourcing strategies which deliver superior value to Ted

•       Assist the Head of Procurement to establish the Procurement function at Ted, and educate the business on the value of procurement; developing tools, templates, processes & systems to support the 3-year plan

•       Provide expert commercial knowledge and guidance to the business in all matters related to Shipping and Freight Solutions, Warehouse Location and optimisation, Carrier Solutions; developing insights and analysis to support business decisions

•       Deliver whole life cost efficiencies, cost to serve, and benchmark & track ROI to ensure the most efficient Value delivery and good practice

•       Lead Contract Negotiations, working collaboratively with functional, legal and finance stakeholders

•       Own and Build key stakeholder relationships, managing friction & alignment across the business; in addition to managing external supplier relationships

•       Lead and manage cross functional project teams whilst also collaborating, mentoring and supporting junior procurement team members as necessary

•       Drive contract Management and risk mitigation to reduce financial and operational exposure

Qualifications

•       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification

•       CIPS desirable

•       Project Management desirable

Tools of the Trade

•       Procurement experience of Supply Chain & Logistics Category, including Shipping, Outbound and returns carrier solutions, Honk Kong, UK and EU Warehouse solutions

•       Proven technical procurement experience and strong knowledge of category business models and approaches; able to develop sourcing plans, write and run tenders, plan and develop negotiation strategies and negotiate contracts

•       Significant commercial experience, with proven strong negotiation skills and the ability to problem solve complex delivery options

•       Consultative style with Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to engage and influence a range of stakeholders of all levels, developing strong relationships to become the trusted go to procurement advisor

•       Previous experience in a retail environment or fast-paced industry

•       Strong MS Office capabilities
