About The Role

As the New Business & Acquisitions Controller (South), you will hold the overall accountability for the delivery of a budgeted number of New stores and Sales from new accounts joining Bestway Retail within the set operational geography. This is a pivotal role liaising with senior management across the organisation concerning all matters related to new business and the role is a primary leadership position, focused on coaching and supporting a highly motivated team of NBAMs (New Business & Acquisitions Managers). 

You will be responsible for creating, implementing and delivering a clearly defined New business growth strategy, through the performance of your team. Constantly reviewing the effective ways of team working, you will collaborate with other New Business & Acquisitions Controller’s to ensure the New Business & Acquisitions team are optimising time and tools to deliver all set goals.

This role will ensure that all Bestway Retail brands are optimised and protected and that the Bestway Retail credit risk is appropriately managed at all times. Developing talent through driving a team culture of high support, high challenge and continual improvement is essential and the continued behaviour of your team is to continually remain in line with the company values at all times.

 

About You

A leader that demonstrates  a strong commercial understanding of the Symbol Group industry, including competitor activity and market trends is required for this role, along with the ability to understand detailed commercial and financial information to use to inform consistent decision making.

You will have the capability to identify opportunities for growth and development, and create appropriate robust plans to turn insight into action.

Knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Word and Excel is essential alongside having understanding of CPOS/EPOS including interrogation of data and ability to support the retailers/team colleagues with use of same. 

You will be a driven and charismatic self-starter who can take responsibility and accountability for their area and colleagues. You will be a strong leader who can inspire, motivate and engage a high performing team. Using your developed problem solving skills, you will apply your outstanding commercial judgement and have excellent influencing, communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
