Job Details

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will involve working directly with the Regional Director to understand the Glasgow wholesale business and support the future direction of the branch.  The ideal candidate will be required to develop strong working relationships and exhibit leadership and influencing skills to ensure that the business maintains its foothold within the market and is well positioned to continue to grow. We are looking for strong commercial acumen and an ability and willingness to trade would be an advantage.

CORE EXPECTATIONS:

•    Establish, maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers

•    Team Management with the ability to engage and motivate a team of multi-disciplined employees

•    Actively promotes a positive culture and demonstrates enthusiasm for our business

•    Identify and develop efficiencies and enhance operational effectiveness across the branch 

•    To work closely with the Department Managers to develop opportunities within our customer base

•    Ensure the best customer service is being delivered at all times

•    Liaison with sales, procurement and operations employees at the warehouse depot

•    Ensure that the warehouse is well organised and run efficiently and is fully compliant with Company policies & procedures, including legislative requirements, to ensure the legal operation of the site

•    Connecting with H&S team on key aspects to ensure the health and safety of staff and customers on site – ensuring full compliance with required standards and legislation 

•    Maintain up to date knowledge of sector trends, competitor activity and product lines

•    An advocate for developments in digital technology that will enable our business to be innovative and stay ahead of the competition

EXPERIENCE/ABOUT YOU:

•    Minimum of 3 years leadership/management experience – preferably within FMCG 

•    Customer focussed ideally within a fast-moving environment 

•    Profit orientated and cost conscious 

•    Good at building relationships with an ability to demonstrate enthusiasm

•    A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills 

•    Decisive and able to make decisions efficiently and effectively

•    IT literate able to understand and use data to drive commercial business results 

•    Use of social media platforms to drive business marketing 

•    Understands the importance of working within a diverse & inclusive culture and is able to role model inclusivity through engaging leadership behaviour

QUALIFICATIONS:    

•    Degree level education preferred / or equivalent industry experience
