Head of Mass Market Sales – DK UK Sales

DK, the world’s leading illustrated non-fiction publisher, is looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Head of Mass Market Sales, who is eager to build on DK’s success and be part of the company’s future strategy. 

The ideal candidate will already have a sound knowledge of how UK sales works, having built strong relationships with key mass market and non trade customers and will have the contacts we need to grow our sales even further. This role manages a team of 3 and the ideal candidate will have experience of leading a dynamic and target driven sales team. A strong negotiator and communicator, you will be able to drive both revenue and volume with these key customers. 

Reporting to the UK and Group Sales Director, the role will have ownership of devising and implementing an ambitious sales strategy for the mass market channel. The role will have overall responsibility for some of the most important customers in this channel and will lead a team of 2 Key Account Managers and 1 Sales Assistant who are responsible for DK's top customers. You will also work closely with our in house publishing teams to shape the publishing strategy and ensure we are delivering the right books for your customers and work with marketing and PR to ensure our campaigns drive sales to your customers. 

DK is home to both highly-acclaimed adult non-fiction and an award-winning children’s list. We also have a strong licensing programme from bestselling brands including Disney, LEGO®, Marvel and Star Wars™ and we are responsible for selling Sourcebooks in the UK, the largest US based independent publisher.
